The sleeping bag that he used during the war is on display at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120 in Nipawin. MacFARLANE, Leonard “Len” WWII Len was born on May 17, 1921. He served with the #138 and #161 Squadrons of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Flying Officer from August 1941 to September 1945 during the Second World War. He was awarded the following decorations: DFC, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Medal, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and 1939-45 Medal. MacFARLANE, Robert WWII Robert was born on January 11, 1923. He served as a Corporal with the Royal Canadian Air Force from November 13, 1941 to October 3, 1945 during the Second World War. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Robert passed away on April 28, 2000.
