He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada during the Second World War. He returned home after his discharge to farm in the Shipman area. He married and had six children. He did a lot of carpentry work building for others. He was a member of the Smeaton Legion Branch for four years before he passed away on April 4, 2012. LA BAY, Arthur Walter WWI Arthur was born in 1896 in Arlington, South Dakota. He served with the Army in England and France with the 152nd Battalion in 1916 for which he received the military medal for bravery in the field on May 31, 1919. He also fought with the Regiment #925930 in Vimy Ridge. His bravery medal was documented in the London Gazette #31142 on May 21, 1919. He farmed in Killdeer, SK after the First World War and retired in Rockglen, SK. Arthur passed away in 1974. LA ROSE, Ottis Grant WWII Ottis was born in 1901. He served as a Gunner with the Royal Canadian Artillery Infantry Division during the Second World War. Ottis passed away in 1997.
