The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 151 HODGINS, Robson WWII Robson served with the Royal Canadian Army Signal Corps during the Second World War. HODGINS, Stanley Howard WWII Stan was born in 1922 in Mortlach, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Fall of 1941 and trained as an Air Observer (combined Navigator and Bomb Aimer) during the Second World War. On graduation in November of 1942, he received his O-wing and commission and was posted to Coastal Command in the Atlantic Provinces where #113 Squadron’s task was to search for German u-boats and escort shipping convoys bound from Canada to Britain. The war in the Atlantic was winding down in 1944 and Stan’s crew, with others in Squadron 133, were posted overseas to Transport Command in Burma. Their duty was to supply the British Army and Burma with everything they needed (food, ammunition, paratroops, etc.) from their base on islands off the coast. Stan’s rank in Burma was Flight Lieutenant. He earned the Atlantic Star and Burma Star for a tour of duty in each theatre of war. Stan has been a member of the Assiniboia Legion Branch 17 for sixty-four years. HODGINS, Wilfred WWII Wilfred served as a Sapper with the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1941 until 1945 during the Second World War.
