HICKEY, Emmett WWII Emmett was born on October 1, 1914. He served with the 16th Eastern Air Command of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1946 during the Second World War. HICKLEY, John M. WWII John was born in Winnipeg, MB on March 13, 1920 and homesteaded at Ravine Bank near Meteor. The family returned to Southampton in 1922. He volunteered for the Royal Navy in 1940 and served in harbour defence as an asdic operator during the Second World War. He went to Trinidad in 1940-1941, Malta in 1942, and was evacuated from Suez to Beirut in 1942. He was submarine defence for Beirut harbour 1944. He went to Fort Bembridge Isle of Wight from 1944 to 1945. He was demobilized in Dunoon, Scotland. John now lives in Devon, AB.
