The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 141 HAWKINS, Norman Walter WWII Norman was born on April 27, 1919 in Assiniboia, SK to parents Fredrick and Clara Hawkins. He signed up with the Regina Rifles and enlisted in the 28 AA Regt. R.C.A. during the Second World War from January 8, 1942 to February 1, 1946. He served in active duty in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe as a Gunner. He was assigned to Prince Rupert, BC and took his training at Sea Island. From there, he went to Halifax by train and onto England. Norman received a France and Germany Star, which was awarded to his for active service in Europe. He married Marlene Roszell and had six children. Norman passed away on March 4, 2013 in Assiniboia and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery. HAY, Hazel WWII Hazel served as a Private from 1944 to 1945 with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during the Second World War. HAYDEN, Paul V. WWII Paul was born in 1918. He served during the Second World War as a Corporal Airframe Mechanic with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940 to 1945. He was stationed in St Thomas, ON; Camp Borden; Souris, MB and Pat Bay, BC.
