The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 139 HASTINGS, Charles W. WWII Charles was born in 1924 in Lashburn, SK and grew up in Maidstone, SK. In 1940, he enlisted in the Signal Corps and shortly after transferred to the Ordinance Corps. He took his training in Ontario. He then shipped out to England with the R.C.E.M.E. and remained with them throughout the Second World War. Having served in Holland, France and Germany he was awarded: the General Service Medal, the Voluntary Service Medal and the France and Germany Star. Later he was awarded the Thank You Canada Medal from the people of the Netherlands. Charles has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for fifty-one years and has been active in Maidstone, Lloydminster and Marshall Branches. Charles currently resides in Pine Island Lodge in Maidstone. HASTINGS, Frank B. WWII Frank was born on June 23, 1913. He served with the Regina Rifles as a Lieutenant from 1942 to 1946. He passed away on March 22, 1996. HAWKINS, Allan Dale Allan was born on March 6, 1933. He served as a Corporal with the Canadian Army Infantry from 1952 to 1954. His decorations include the UN, Korea, MID with Oak Leaf Cluster.
