The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 133 HAMILTON, William “Bill” WWII Bill was born on October 11, 1923 in Semans, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War in October of 1942 and after training in Regina, SK; Brandon, MB and St Thomas, ON, was stationed at the flying schools in Uplands, ON; Charlottetown, PE; Camp Borden, ON and the Test and Development station at Rockcliffe in Ottawa, ON. Following his discharge in June of 1946, Bill attended the University of Saskatchewan, College of Agriculture and graduated in 1950. His subsequent 38-year agricultural career was all spent working with and for farmers and their organizations - seventeen years in Saskatchewan and the last twenty-one years in Ottawa. Bill and his wife Esther live in Ottawa. HAMMOND, George WWI & WWII George served as a Staff Sergeant in the Canadian Infantry during the First and Second World Wars. He passed away in 1981. HANSON, Odell Lorne WWII Odell served with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve as an Able Seaman during the Second World War from July 26, 1943 to September 18, 1945. He served on the HMCS Trentonian, a corvette that was torpedoed in 1945. Odell survived the sinking.
