The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 111 DUNK, Frederick A. BOER WAR Frederick was born in Toronto, ON in 1880. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force as a pharmacist in the 10th Canadian Field Hospital as Reg #46. He served from 1902 to 1904 with the 10th Canadian Field Hospital in South Africa during the Boer War. He was awarded the Queen’s South Africa Medal with three Clasps, Cape Colony, Transvaal and South Africa. In 1905, he married Flo Bisson in Winnipeg, MB and they had five children. In 1907 they moved to Grayson, SK where he opened a pharmacy named DUNK the Druggist. In 1935, he turned the pharmacy over to his son and moved to Regina where he was the manager of the Natural History Museum for eleven years. He was an avid hunter and co-authored the book Windfowling in the Mississippi Flyway. Frederick passed away in 1960 and is buried in Regina. DUNNE, Charles Joseph WWII Charles was born in 1922 in Sinnett, SK. He served during the Second World War in Canada from November 6, 1942 until September 10, 1945. His unit was the #12 District Depot, C.A.A.F. Regina and other parts like Camp Borden and Camp Shilo. His last posting was HMH/RCAMC, Halifax when the war ended. Charles passed away in 2001. EBERTS, Steven Joseph WWII Steven was born in Qu’Appelle, SK in 1922. He served in the Army with the 47th Reconnaissance Regiment of the Princess Louise Dragoon Guards during the Second World War. His service took him to Italy, Sicily, Belgium, Holland and England. Steven had been a member of the Lumsden Legion Branch 74 for many years before he passed away in 2006.
