The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 103 CRASHLEY, Kenneth James WWII Kenneth was born on March 25, 1923 in Carleville, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Army and served during the Second World War. He was a member of the Big River Legion Branch 136. Kenneth passed away on July 30, 1988. CREIGHTON, Donald WWII Donald was born on December 30, 1924 in Nanton, AB. He enlisted with the Army on September 8, 1943 and served in the C.I.C. with the Winnipeg Rifles in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. He attained the rank of Corporal and was wounded in action on October 8, 1944. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for this service during the Second World War. He was an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133 for 34 years and he served as secretary/treasurer for over twenty years. Donald passed away on May 7, 2002. CROSS, Robert Tracy WWII Tracy was born on December 5, 1923 in Yorkton, SK and spent his childhood in Yorkton and Crescent Lake, SK. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and trained as an Aero-engine Mechanic at Moose Jaw, SK. He took his basic training at Lachine, QC. In 1944, he was posted to #11 SFTS air base in Yorkton where he serviced twin motor Cessna Crane aircrafts. Later that year he was posted overseas with #6 Bomber Command to Middleton, St George and England where he serviced Lancaster bombers. In 1945, he went to various locations in Europe, including Holland. The 666 Squadron was disbanded in 1945 so he was posted to Uterine, Germany where he worked on spitfire fighter aircraft. He returned to Winnipeg, MB in 1946 where he was discharged. He returned to Yorkton in 1951 and worked for the International Harvester Company and IHC dealers until his retirement in 1989. In 1953, he married Eve Rees in Armstrong, BC. He and Eve had two children. He still lives in Yorkton where he has been an active member of the Alexander Ross Legion Branch 77 for fifty-six years.
