The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 95 DOBIE, Leslie Earl PEACETIME Leslie was born in 1943 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He was in the Royal Canadian Navy for five years, serving on HMCS Columbia and HMCS Bonaventure. He also spent 20 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served at CFB Greenwood, 1 LAHR, Toronto, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Trenton, Chilliwack, and Summerside. Throughout his career in the Canadian Forces, he served in Canada, Europe and the Middle East. DOMBOWSKY, Alphonse Longinus WWII Alphonse was born on April 15, 1922 in Avonlea, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in Regina on January 16, 1943 and served in Canada and Britain during WWII. Lance Corporal Dombowsky was honourably discharged on December 20, 1945 in Regina and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45. Alphonse passed away in 1991. DONISON, George Dan WWII George was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan in 1921. He joined the Army in Regina on January 9, 1943 and served with the Regina Rifles in England, France and Germany. After his discharge on May 16, 1946, he farmed near Avonlea and had three children. George died in 1991.
