At the age of 14, he served in the British Cavalry as a Bugler and was also a Yeoman in the British Army. George married Ellen Rouse in England and they had one son. They came to Canada in 1905 and lived in the Valley Plain District. George died in 1960 at the age of 90. He is buried in Toronto, Ontario. COLLINS, Samuel WWI & WWII Samuel was born in Ireland in 1884, came to Clair, Saskatchewan in 1927, and lived in the Scrip District. He married Margaret Kennedy and had nine children. Serving with the British Army during WWI, Sam was seriously wounded in France at Vimy Ridge and returned home. He also served with the Canadian Army during WWII, based out of Dafoe, Saskatchewan. Sam passed away in 1968 and is buried in Scrip Cemetery in Saskatchewan. COLLINS, William J. “Willie” WWII Willie was born in 1913 in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Clair, Saskatchewan in 1927. He joined the Canadian Army and served from 1940-46 with the 11th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 5th Division, in Canada, England, France, Italy, Holland, and Germany. He was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for sixty years. He died in 2006 and is buried in Scrip Cemetery, north of Clair. Willie never married.
