The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 59 BROWN, Norman WWI Norman was born in Middlesex, England on July 25, 1901. He lived in Saskatchewan’s Gardenia District and married Florette Gauthier with whom he had three children. He served from February 1916 to April 1919 as a Signalman with the 214th Battalion of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and the Canadian Army Medical Corps. Norman died on December 4, 1965 and is buried in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. BROWN, Percy WWI Percy was born in England in 1891 and came to Canada to live in the Crocus Vale District in 1906. He married Kathy Smith and they had two children. Percy was with the first contingent of Canadians in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery to go overseas in World War I. He served as a Sergeant in Canada, England, France, Belgium and Germany from September 1914 to May 1919. Percy died in 1968 and is buried in British Columbia. BROWN, Vernon WWII Vernon was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1918. He joined the Army and served in Canada, England and France with the 2nd Division of the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. He was killed in action in 1944 at Iffs in France where he is also buried. Vernon was married but had no children.
