The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 53 BOWDEN, James WWII James was born in England in 1904. He came to Canada in the 1920s and lived in Wimmer, Saskatchewan. James joined the Army and served as a Sergeant Major with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada from 1940-1947. He married and had three children. James died in 1987 and is buried in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. BRAZIER, Austin W. WWII Austin was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1914. He joined the Army and served with the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Tank Corps in Canada, England, France, and Belgium. Austin was in Holland in 1944 when he was killed in action. He is buried in Bergen Op Zoom. Austin was 20 years old. BRICKSAW, Fred WWII Fred was born in 1913 in Westbend, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served in England, Holland, France, Belgium, Italy, and Germany from 1941 to 1945. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Campaign Stars for Holland, Germany, France, Belgium, and Italy. He also received the Defence Medal for England and the Montgomery Award. Fred was a member of Saskatoon Legion Branch 63 for twenty years before he died in 1979.
