The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 447 WOODWARD, Robert James “Jim” PEACETIME Jim was born in Swan River, Manitoba in 1947. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy Fleet Air Arm in 1964 and served 26years, retiring from the Royal Canadian Air Force as a MWO in 1990. Jim has been a member of Kamsack Legion Branch 24 for forty-eight years. His son Timothy is the fourth generation of military personnel and is still serving. He is also a member of Branch 24. WOODWARD, Sydney WWII Sydney was born in March 1922 in Estevan, Saskatchewan. After joining the Royal Canadian Regiment and serving during WWII, he was killed in action in Rimini, Italy in September 1944. A lake in Saskatchewan was named in Sydney’s honour and there is also a memorial stained glass window in Kamsack’s Westminster Memorial United Church. WOOLRICH, William KOREA William was born in Clair, Saskatchewan in 1926. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served in Canada for six months during the Korean War. After being medically discharged, he farmed and got married. William passed away in 2000.
