The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 439 WILSON, Reginald Jr. “Duke” WWII Duke was born in England and immigrated to Canada as a child in 1919. He joined the Army in 1943 and served in Canada, Britain and Northern Europe. After his honourable discharge in 1946, Duke continued farming and working for the Department of Natural Resources as a Fire Patrolman in the Paddockwood and Candle Lake areas. He then worked for the Prince Albert National Park for a few weeks. Duke and his wife Marie retired to the Village of Christopher Lake. He was a Legion member in Paddockwood and Christopher Lake for thirty-six years before he passed away in 1983. WILSON, Reginald Sr. WWI & WWII Reginald was born in England in 1897 and he came to Canada in 1914. He joined the Toronto Regiment and served in England during WWI. While there, he married and brought his wife and two children to Canada where he farmed for a few years in the Forest Gate area. Reginald and his wife helped organize the Paddockwood Legion in 1926. He joined the Army again in 1940, served in Canada with the Veterans Guard and remained in the Army until he retired to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1960. Reginald was a member of Paddockwood Legion Branch 31for fourteen years. WINTERS, Sidney WWII Sidney was born in Nottingham, England in 1902. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served as a Sapper with the 3rd Field Company in Canada, England, France, Holland, and Spitzbergen. After serving for 5 years, he was discharged and moved to British Columbia. Sidney died in 1988 and he is buried in Abbotsford.
