The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 425 WEREZAK, William WWII William was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan on February 28, 1922. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 17, 1942 and trained as a bomb aimer, flying reconnaissance along the east coast and patrolling in Anson aircraft. Sergeant Werezak left the service on January 1, 1946 then went to the University of Saskatchewan to take Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Education degrees to become a teacher. His last school before retiring was Mount Royal Collegiate in Saskatoon. William married and has become a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. WESCHE, Jacob Phillip “Jack” WWII Jack was born on April 24, 1916 on the family farm. He enlisted in the Army on March 8, 1941 and served with the Lord Strathcona Horse, 5th Division, “A” Squadron in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was discharged on September 9, 1946 and he was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the Defence Medal, the 1939-45 Star, the War Medal 193945 and the Italy Star. Jack died in December 1996. WESCHE, John Henry WWII John was born on the family farm on March 19, 1922. He joined the Army on December 29, 1942 and was discharged on March 25, 1946. He served in Canada with the Prince Albert Volunteers Service. John passed away on March 27, 1981.
