He joined the Canadian Army and served in Canada as a gunner and driver from 19411943. Lance Corporal Walter was medically discharged. He married and had 6 children. He was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for fifty years before he passed away in 1995. WALTER, Eric WWII Eric was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1919. He joined the Canadian Army and served as a signalman in Canada, England, France, Belgium, and Holland. He landed in France on D Day. After his discharge, he married and had 6 children. He received the Meritorious Award from Wynyard Legion Branch 101 where he was a Life Member for sixty-three years. Eric died in 2009 and is buried in Wynyard, Saskatchewan. WALTER, Robin J. PEACETIME Robin was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1980. She joined the Canadian Army and served in Canada and Germany with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians). She has been a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for more than a year.
