The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 337 SCAMBLER, Kenneth WWII Kenneth was born in Clair, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served in Canada and in the North Atlantic on Corvettes doing convoy duty and submarine patrols. Kenneth married and had one child. He died in 1994. SCARFE, John R. “Jack” WWII Jack was born in Saskatoon on October 14, 1924. He joined the RCAF in April 1942, trained as an air gunner, served in England with Squadrons 103 and 576 and completed 40 bombing raid sorties and survived a flaming crash in Wales. Jack left the service on October 7, 1945 as Warrant Officer Second Class then became a fireman with the Regina City Fire Department and then an investigator with the Provincial Fire Commissioner’s office. He then was a private investigator, recording 800 investigations and court appearances during his career. Jack is a Life Member of the Provincial Fire Chiefs Association, has served as chairman of No. 107 Air Cadets for 12 years, with the board of the Canadian Paraplegic Association for 10 years, is on the A.L.S. board and has served on several executive positions with The Legion, including president, vicepresident and is a Life member. He was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Governor-General for his work as chairman of the Canadian Remembers Committee of Saskatoon. Jack married and had seven children. SCHARF, William G. WWII William was born in Hartney, MB on May 2, 1918. He joined the Army on June 17, 1942 and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Canada, the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe. Craftsman Scharf left the service in January 1946. William married and has been a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
