The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 329 RUSK, Donald W. WWII Donald was born in Glenboro, Manitoba in 1922. He joined the Army during WWII and served in the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. After his discharge in 1946, Donald returned to farming and married a year later in 1947. His wife, Barbara, died in 1983 and he farmed at Ravendale until 1990. Donald retired in Carrot River where he has been a member of The Legion there for ten years. RUSSELL, Alex WWII Alex was born in Leross, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and served in Canada on an air crew. After his medical discharge, he was with the Department of Natural Resources. Later, he went into the Ministry of the United Church. Alex married and had 3 children. RYAN, E. WWII E. Ryan was born on July 17, 1923 in Winnipeg. He enlisted on February 21, 1941 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, North Africa, Sicily and Italy as a Trooper with the 5th Armoured Regiment, also known as the 8th (RECCE) Princess Louise’s New Brunswick Hussars. He left the service in March 1945. E. Ryan married and has been a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
