The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 321 ROE, George S. WWII George was born in 1921 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army in Regina in 1941and served with the 7th Anti-Tank Regiment in England, Italy and Northwest Europe. George was discharged in November 1945 and has lived in Regina since 1962. He has been a member of Fleming Legion Branch 201 for 67 years. ROGERS, John WWI John was born in the United States and came to Canada in 1909. He joined the Canadian Army during World War I and served as a Corporal in Canada, England, Belgium, and France where he was wounded. He farmed in the Valley Plain District and in 1923, returned to the USA where he later died. ROKOSH, Frank Gerrard WWII Frank was born on August 29, 1922 in Ituna, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on October 31, 1941 in Saskatoon. He and his six brothers all served in uniform: four in the RCAF, two in the Army and one in the RCMP. After breaking an arm while refueling an aircraft at No. 7 Bombing and Gunnery School at Paulson, Manitoba, he spent more than a year in hospital. Leading Aircraftman Rokosh left the service with a pensionable disability at Regina on September 18, 1945. In January 1953, he re-enlisted in the Permanent Force and was posted to Rivers, Manitoba as an airframe technician assigned to helicopters used in training army pilots. Soon after, he was chosen to represent his station at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth in London. He also participated in the unveiling of the Allied Air Forces Memorial on Green Island near Ottawa. Besides Rivers, he also served at Langar in Britain, Penhold, Alberta and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Frank left the service in 1964 to go into business for himself. He married and had two sons and three daughters.
