The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 285 PAULSON, Jan-Christian WWI Jan-Christian was born in 1888 in Denmark and came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1906. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the 107th Battalion in Canada and overseas in Western Europe. Jan-Christian, a farmer, married and had 2 children. He died in 1928 and is buried in the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Quill Lake. PAULSON, Soren WWII Soren was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1920. He served with the Winnipeg Grenadiers in Canada, Hong Kong and Japan and was a Prisoner of War from 1941-1946. Soren did slave labour for Japan and was 60 miles from Hiroshima when the first Atomic Bomb was dropped. He has suffered from poor health ever since the war. Soren lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. PAYTON, Robert H. WWII Robert was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as an Air Navigator instructor in Canada during World War II. Robert, who married and had 3 children, died in 1998 and is buried in London, Ontario.
