The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 257 MILBURN, Robert PEACETIME Robert was born on June 16, 1948 in Saskatoon. He has served in the RCNVR since October 25, 1965. He was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration. Married, he originally joined Saskatoon Legion Branch 63 then transferred to Nutana Legion Branch 362 in 1995. MILLARD, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in England in 1909. He joined the Royal Air Force and served as a radar technician in England during WWII. The first Canadian to qualify on radar, Sergeant Millard was honoured by the British Ministry for his work in the development of radar in England. He was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for fifty-four years before he died in 2000. Arthur is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. MILLER, Gordon William Percival “Percy” WWII Percy was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan in 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Signal Corps in 1941 and was stationed in Regina, Saskatchewan and Kingston, Ontario. In late 1942, Percy was injured while on leave. As a result, he was unable to continue in this same role and was transferred to the Dental Corps where he later became a Sergeant. He was stationed in Vancouver, Victoria, Prince George and Tofino, British Columbia. He was discharged after the war and returned home to Avonlea to take up farming. Percy passed away on June 22, 2004.
