The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 191 JONES, Greville Llewellyn “Grev” WWII Grev was born on May 30, 1917 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Saskatoon, trained as a pilot, was commissioned, and served in RCAF 428 Ghost Squadron in England. Grev married at Sidmouth in Devon two weeks prior to being shot down on a mission over Bremen on August 19, 1944. As a POW, he survived a forced march and was liberated by Russian forces in April or May 1945. He left the service in Regina on September 4 of that year. Grev had two sons and five daughters with his wife who died in an accident at Lac la Ronge on July 29, 1973. He later remarried a widow with six children. Grev earned a diploma in agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan, farmed near Tisdale for twelve years then was a settlement officer for the Veterans Land Act for three years and appraiser for the Farm Credit Corporation for twenty years. Grev has been a member of Legion Branches Tisdale 50, Rosetown 66 and Nutana 362. JONES, Henry James WWI Henry was born in 1892 in London, England and came to Canada in 1908. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the 9th Platoon and the 214th Battalion, Canadian Light Infantry, in Canada, England, France, Belgium, and Germany. Henry lived in the Valley Plain District with his wife and three children. He died in 1960 and is buried in Duncan, British Columbia. JONES, Lloyd WWII Lloyd was born in Canada and lived in Wimmer, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served with the Perth Regiment of Canada in Canada, England, Italy, Holland, and Germany. After his discharge, he farmed and is now retired in Saskatoon. He has been a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362 for sixty-four years.
