The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 187 JOHNS, F. Stanley A. WWII Stanley was born in 1921 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with Squadrons 610 and 47 in England, Africa and Burma during World War II. He was awarded the Pilot’s Flying Badge, the Burma Star, the 1939-45 Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the Defence Medal. Stanley has been a member of Swift Current Legion Branch 56 for ten years. JOHNSON, Clifford F. WWII Clifford was born in Clair, Saskatchewan. For four years during World War II, Corporal Johnson served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He married and had four children. Clifford passed away in 1966 and was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon. JOHNSON, George Aubrey WWII George was born on July 3, 1917 in Wadena, Saskatchewan and he farmed before the war. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 14, 1942 in Saskatoon and trained as a wireless navigator in Calgary, and did his advanced training in Kingston, ON, Lorreta and Trois-Rivières, QC, Debert, NS, and Greenwood and Moncton, NB. He arrived in Britain in February 1945 but never went to a flying station. Flight Sergeant Johnson left the service in Regina on October 3 that same year. Married with one son and three daughters, Aubrey went to Queen’s University, returned to farming, and later became a carpentry instructor for the Department of Indian Affairs. George has been a member of the Nutana Legion Branch 362.
