The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 183 JAMES, Jim WWII Jim was born on November 18, 1915 in St. Boswells, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Regina on December 28, 1942 and served as a Private until he left the Army on July 4, 1944. He said he spent a month in a military hospital but was never told what the trouble was. After discharge, a civilian doctor told him he had blood poisoning. Jim married and had a son and three daughters. Before the war, he had been a farmer but worked as a welder and warehouseman after the war. Jim has been a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. JASCHINSKY, Benedict Bernard WWII Benedict was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan in 1922. He joined the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and served as a Rifleman during WWII. He was killed in action on October 27, 1944 and is buried in the Adegem Canadian War Cemetery in Belgium. Benedict was 22 years old. Jaschinsky Lake was named in his memory. JASCHINSKY, Joseph WWII Joseph was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan in 1916. He joined the Army and served during World War II. Joseph passed away in 1978.
