The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 15 ALLEN, Thomas Patrick WWII Thomas was born in 1921 in Semans, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served with the South & North Saskatchewan Regiments in Canada, England, France and Italy. Thomas was killed in action in Italy in 1945. ALYEA, Alvin PEACETIME Alvin was born on December 4, 1932 in the Arborfield District. He enlisted in the Army on February 16, 1954 and took his basic training in Winnipeg, serving there with the 1st Regiment of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, A Battery. Gunner Alyea also served in Shilo, Churchill and Wainwright, Alberta before receiving his discharge on February 28, 1957. After returning to civilian life, Alvin assisted with 745 Air Cadet Squadron and received the rank of Flying Officer. He has been a Life Member of Arborfield Legion Branch 203 for fifty-two years and is retired and living in Arborfield. AMOS, George WWII George was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan in 1912. He joined the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and went overseas with the 1st Canadian Division. George was killed in action at Monte Cassino, Italy in May 1944 during the push for the Hitler Line.
