The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 155 HANSON, Harry Edward WWII Harry was born in 1923 in Brancepeth, Saskatchewan. He joined the Canadian Navy and served on HMCS Gatineau on the high seas during World War II. He was awarded the France and Germany Star and the 1939-45 Star. Harry was a member of Paddockwood Legion Branch 31 for ten years before he passed away in 1993. HANSON, Henry WWII Henry and his twin sister Della were born on November 27, 1920 on the family farm near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the 16th – 22nd Saskatchewan Horse and served as a Trooper in England, France, Holland, Belgium, Poland, Germany and other countries during WWII. He was discharged in 1946. Henry married Evelyn Cunningham and they had three children. He moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba in the early 1950s and lived there until he died on March 17, 1983. He was a member of Flin Flon Legion Branch 73 for more than twenty-five years and is buried in the Legion plot in Flin Flon. HANSON, Norman WWII Norman was born on October 14, 1918 on the family farm near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Saskatoon as a Private with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and participated in the battle on the beaches of Normandy after which he served in the Northwest European countries. He was discharged at the end of the war and returned home to the farm for a short time. He then moved to New Westminster, British Columbia and lived with Oscar, his war veteran brother. They bought a fishing boat, fished for a few years, and he later worked as a carpenter. Norman died on April 3, 1980 and is buried in the Soldiers plot in New Westminster, British Columbia.
