The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 143 GRYBA, Paul A. WWII Paul came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1926 when he was a baby. He joined the Army and served for two years in Canada as a Sapper with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He farmed and was married with three children. Paul was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for twenty-six years before he died in 1985. He is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. GRYBA, Stanley P. “Stan” WWII Stan was born in Manitoba in 1919 but lived his life in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He served as a Sergeant in Provost Corps #11 in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. A farmer, Stanley was married, had four children, and was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for twenty years before he died in 1982. He is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. GUENTHER (nee DYCK), Lena Annie Helen WWII Lena was born in 1925 in Herbert, Saskatchewan. She enlisted in the Army in Regina on October 28, 1928 when she was 18. She served in Canada during WWII and was discharged on February 11, 1946. Lena married Raymond Hokansen and they raised ten children. Lena is presently living in Arborfield close to her daughter and family. She has been a member of Arborfield Legion Branch 203 for three years.
