The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 135 GILBERTSON, Richard WWII Richard was born in Hatton, North Dakota, USA in 1924. He joined the 167th Infantry, Co. B, of the United States Army and served in the US and in the Philippines where he contracted malaria. He came back to Canada in 1947. Richard married, had three children, and was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for twenty years. He died in 1980 and is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. GILL, John WWII John was born in Poland in May 1913. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps in Canada, England, France and Germany during WWII. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the France and Germany Star and the George VI Medal. John was a member of Paddockwood Legion Branch 31 for thirty-four years before he died in 1987. GILL, William Joseph WWII William was born in Poland on September 1, 1920. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the Regina Rifles in the 3rd Division in Belgium, Holland and Germany during WWII. William has been a member of Paddockwood Legion Branch 31 for more than forty-four years.
