The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 133 GARDINER, Harold Wm. WWII & SPECIAL DUTY AREA Harold was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Private in Canada, England and France at #2 Fighter Wing. Corporal also served during peacetime and was in the Air Force for twenty years. Harold was married and had five children. GILBERTSON, Emil WWI Emil was born in Ada, Minnesota, USA in 1892 but came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1928. He joined the United States Army and served in Motor Transport. He married Olena Anderson, had five children, and was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37. Emil died in 1959 and is buried in the Quill Lake Cemetery. GILBERTSON, James WWII James was born in Hatton, North Dakota, USA in 1926 and came to Canada two years later. He joined the United States Navy and served as a Fireman 1st Class in the US and in the South Pacific from 1946-1948. He came back to Canada in 1949 but went back to the United States.
