He joined the Merchant Navy during World War II and served two years in Canada and on the Pacific Ocean. John married, had four children, and was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for about fifteen years. He died in 1971 and was buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. GARDINER, Egbert R. WWII Egbert was born in Ontario around 1896 but came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1907. He was in active service in Canada from 1941-1944 as an Artillery Gunner in the Royal Canadian Army. He was discharged in December 1944. Egbert married, had seven children, and was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for a number of years. He passed away in 1980 and was buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. GARDINER, Eldon J. WWII Eldon was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as an Aircraftsman Class I from 1941-1946 in Canada, England, France and Germany. He married but had no children. He passed away in 1990 and was buried in Victory Memorial Park in Surrey, British Columbia.
