The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 11 ADAMS, Hugh Alexander WWII Hugh was born in Canada in 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Flight Lieutenant with 428 Squadron in Canada and England. On July 29, 1944, he was flying over Europe when he was killed in action. He was 24 years of age. Hugh is remembered on Panel 249 at the Runnymede Memorial in Surrey, England and also has a commemorative marker in Saskatchewan’s Quill Lake Cemetery. AGARAND, Émile Eugène WWII Émile was born on January 29, 1926 in Sonningdale, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served in the Canadian Infantry during WWII. Émile has been a member of Sonningdale Legion Branch 300 for sixty-six years. ALDER, John Donald “Jack” WWII Jack was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Army in Winnipeg and served from 1941-1945 as a Signalman with the Cameron Highlanders in Canada, Normandy, Belgium and Holland. Jack was married and he died on September 2, 1997. He is buried in Victoria, British Columbia.
