The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 117 FAURE, A. Lloyd WWII Lloyd was born in 1922 in Maple Creek. He joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment and served with the motor transport unit in Canada, England, Scotland, and France where he landed on June 6, 1944. He went as far as San River where he was wounded then flown back to England to be treated in hospital there. He didn’t get back to France until the war was over. Because he was with transport, he went back and drove for The Legion Road Show. Lloyd has been a member of Kelliher Legion Branch 219 for more than four years. FERGUSON, Denton Boyne WWI Denton was born in Wingham, Ontario in 1898 and was living with his brother, Gershon R. Ferguson, at Kyle, Saskatchewan before joining the Army in World War I. He served with the 102nd Battalion Canadians in France and was killed in action at Vimy Ridge the morning of April 19, 1917. FISHER, Jack Glen Millan WWII Jack was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on August 30, 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and served as a Flying Officer in Canada and England, flying a Mosquito with #100 Group. He was 21 years old and a member of 192 Squadron when he was killed on a mission over Munich, Germany on November 27, 1944. Both Jack and his RAF navigator attempted a crash landing on a beach north of Le Havre, France but they hit a mine. There is no known grave for Jack but he is remembered on the Runnymede War Memorial in England. Fisher Creek in northern Saskatchewan was named in his memory.
