The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 113 ESSON, Herman WWI Herman, born in the United States in 1881, came to Canada in 1910. He joined the Canadian Army and served in Canada, England, France, and Belgium during World War I. Herman was a farmer who got married and had one child. He was also a member of the Westasta Great War Veterans Association for a number of years. He died in 1972 and was buried in St. Michaels Church Cemetery, north of Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. ESSON, Malcolm George WWII Malcolm was born in 1919 in Beechy, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served in England and Europe with the 2nd Canadian Artillery Holding Unit during WWII. Malcolm was a member of Beechy Legion Branch 324 for thirty-five years before he passed away in 1985. FAITH, Herbert F. KOREA Herbert was born on November 20, 1933 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on February 14, 1951 in Regina to serve in Korea with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He was a Craftsman when he left the service in Regina on September 15, 1954. Herbert married and had three sons and two daughters. After the war, he worked as a policeman in Saskatoon and Nipawin as well as with a potash company. He also farmed and was a postmaster. Herbert joined the Luella Denton Legion Branch 199 and served there for 28 years. He was secretary-treasurer for 10 years and branch president. Herbert now lives in Garrick, Saskatchewan.
