The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 107 ELLIOTT, Charles Wilfred “Charlie” WWII Charlie was born on the home farm in Paddockwood, Saskatchewan in 1923. He attended school and helped on the farm before he joined the Air Force in 1943 and served in Canada as an air frame mechanic. He was also in the Reserves in 1946. After the war, he again worked on the home farm and married Betty Dearing, with whom he raised a family of seven children. Charlie was active in his community and served in the Paddockwood Legion Branch 31. Leader of the 4-H Beef Club and the Horse Club, he was also involved with the Prince Albert Fair Board and the Heavy Horse Club. ELLIS, Sidney WWII Sidney was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan in 1924 and came to Quill Lake in 1934 or 1935. He joined the Army and served as a dispatch rider with the Paratroopers in Canada and England during World War II. Sidney married and had five children. He died in 1994 and is buried in Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary, Alberta. ELLIS, Stanley WWII Stanley was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1934 or 1935. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Pilot Officer with 427 Squadron in Canada, England and over Western Europe. Sergeant Ellis was killed in action in 1944 in Boulogne, France and he is buried at the Calais Canadian War Memorial. Stanley never married.
