The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 79 CHUDY, D. R. Royal Canadian Air Force David was born on June 15, 1936 at Outlook, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in September 1956 and trained as a pilot serving on CF-100 aircraft at Cold Lake, Alberta, until he left the service in June 1958 as a Flying Officer. He taught auto body shop at Kelsey Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Saskatoon for 26 years until taking early retirement. He was an instructor with the 702 Squadron Air Cadets for a number of years and was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD). David is married with two daughters. CHURCHMAN, Herbert E. WWII Herbert was born on the family farm in South Lemberg, Saskatchewan, on April 2, 1918. He joined the 65th Anti-Tank Corps in 1942 and served in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany, and was discharged in 1946. Herbert has been a member of the Lemberg Branch #69 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 42 years. CLAPSON, Norman Leonard ARMY Norman was born on December 15, 1920 at Ridgedale to Ada and Percy. Norman married Phyllis Langford and joined the Army in 1948 and went overseas for five years. They raised four children in Prince Albert. Norman passed away in Prince Albert in September 1987. CLAPSON, Fredrick Earp “Eric” WWII Eric was born on October 10, 1900. He married Muriel Ramage in 1925 and they raised two sons. They were at Ridgedale from 1936-1939 and then moved to Camrose, Alberta, where Eric joined the Army. After being discharged, he went into the garage business with his brother, Len. Eric is now deceased.
