The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 75 CHANCE, Alfred Ernest WWI Alfred was born in Watford, England, in 1881. He enlisted on September 20, 1899 with the 2nd Brigade Regiment and served for four years in the South African War and was discharged on March 14, 1903 and received the Queen’s and King’s Medals. Alfred was a carpenter by trade and moved to Alameda, Saskatchewan, during WWII and joined the Alameda Legion #267 in 1945. He passed away in 1970. CHAPMAN, Leonard E. WWII Leonard was born on February 21, 1924 at Saskatoon. He enlisted in the Army on April 20, 1941 and served in the Saskatoon Light Infantry in the United Kingdom, Italy and Northwest Europe until his discharge from the service on November 15, 1945 as a Private. Leonard is married with his son shown as next of kin. CHISHOLM, Archie WWII Archie came with his parents, Alex and Margaret, to the White Fox area in 1928 and homesteaded in the Pine Torch District. Archie served many years overseas and returned home in 1945. Archie and his wife moved to Meadow Lake. CHIGA, Melvyn WWII Melvyn was born on August 21, 1923 at Regina. He enlisted in the Army on January 13, 1943, serving with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders in the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe leaving the service on September 21, 1945 as a Lance Corporal. Melvyn is married with his son shown as next of kin.
