The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 71 CANNAM, Arnold Arthur WWII Arnold was born on May 2, 1919 at Kenaston, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on January 4, 1941 at Saskatoon as AC2 and trained as a pilot serving in the United Kingdom in Squadron 420 and 1664 CU and left the service on April 30, 1945 at Dauphin, Manitoba, as a Pilot Officer. Married with two sons and one daughter, Arnold worked at a number of occupations after the war, such as in electrical repair, farming, as a barber, and as production superintendent in plastics manufacturing as maintenance and operations supervisor. He served as president of The Legion Branch at Kenaston. CARLETON, Al E. WWII Al was born on June 15, 1922 at Melville, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Army in January 1941, serving until 1945 in the Artillery (RCA) and left the service as a Gunner. Al is married. CARPENTER, Lawrence H. KOREA Lawrence was born on March 2, 1926 at Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Army on April 23, 1949 at Regina and trained as an infantry scout and sniper. He served with the PPCLI in Korea and left the service at Regina on February 1, 1953 as a Lance Corporal. Married with two sons and one daughter, after the war, he worked with Bowman Brothers Auto Supplies in Saskatoon and later with Nutana Machine Shop. He is a member of the Korea Veterans Association and served as secretarytreasurer for six years and is also a volunteer at the Saskatoon Veterans Home. CARLSON, Grant R. ARMY Grant was born on July 21, 1928 at Elstow, Saskatchewan, and enlisted on September 21, 1953 in the Saskatoon Light Infantry, serving in Canada until April 2, 1956, when he left as a Second Lieutenant. Grant is married.
