The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 413 WARD, Olive WWII Olive was born in Eastend, Saskatchewan, and joined the Air Force. She came with her family in 1931 to the Waterview area near White Fox, Saskatchewan, and later moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. WARD, Westley WWII Westley was born in Eastend, Saskatchewan, and joined the Army. He came with his family to the Waterview area near White Fox, Saskatchewan, in 1931 and later moved to Terrace, British Columbia. WEEDON, William Henry WWII Bill was born at home near Paddockwood, Saskatchewan, on June 14, 1920. He joined the Army at the start of WWII and served in England, France and Holland. He was in army supplies and also served as an army dispatcher delivering messages by motorcycle. In 1956, he moved his family from Saskatchewan to North Vancouver, British Columbia, and owned and operated a retail lumber company. Bill retired in 1985 and passed away in 2002. He had been a member of the Christopher Lake Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for ten years. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France/Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Bar. WARD, William WWI William was born in London, England, in 1890. He joined the 209th Battalion CEF in 1916 and served overseas. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge in 1917, and was discharged in 1918. He came with his parents to Canada in 1897 and after WWI, he farmed in the Eastend area. In 1932, he moved with family to the White Fox area and in 1957, he moved to Prince George. William passed away in 1970 and was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion.
