The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 387 THOMPSON, Norman WWI Norman was born in Wellesley, Ontario, on October 23, 1893. He joined the 107th Overseas Branch (RCA) on March 29, 1916 and was stationed at Camp Shilo for basic training. In 1916, he went overseas and saw active duty on the front lines. After the war, he was stationed for six months in the army of occupation and was discharged on May 19, 1919 and returned home to Langenburg. In 1926, Norman became postmaster of the Langenburg Post Office and worked there until his retirement in October 1961 and married Katherine and raised two daughters. He passed away in Langenburg, Saskatchewan, on March 1, 1984. THOMPSON, Robert Arthur WWII Robert was born in Roche Percee, Saskatchewan, in 1917. He joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Estevan and was sent overseas where he participated in the Normandy invasion. He was killed in action on July 20, 1944 and is buried in Bretteville-sur-Latze, France. THOMSON, Ralph Gordon PEACETIME Ralph was born in Saskatchewan on December 19, 1924. He joined the Air Force as a clerk account supervisor, graduating on May 10, 1957. He served in Trenton, Southport and Portage la Prairie. He was in pilot training when the war ended causing cancellation. He left the service but joined again in 1955 taking up accounting. He married Cpl. M. A. Thomson. Ralph passed away on February 17, 2005. He had been a member of the Lumsden Branch #234 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 32 years. THOMSON (YOUNG), Marilyn Anne PEACETIME Marilyn was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, on January 27, 1937. She enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 and served in Canada, Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Southport, and Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. She was discharged in 1962. She is a member of the Stn P.L.A.P. marching band, serving in monthly assemblies, pilot graduations, Remembrance Day services, and cessation of NATO in Winnipeg in July 1958. She married Cpl. R. G. Thomson, nicknamed Rusty.
