The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 377 STRANDLUND, Elmer Vernon WWII Elmer was born in Percival, Saskatchewan, on April 15, 1918. He joined the Active Army in February 1942, serving in Canada, and was discharged on May 12, 1945. Upon returning to civilian life, he farmed until 1973 when he retired. Elmer had been a member of the Broadview Branch #148 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years before he passed away on August 9, 2004. STREET, Harry L. WWI Harry was born in England and came to the Ingleside District, south of Marchwell, Saskatchewan. He joined the 5th Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 1st Canadian Division, British Expeditionary Force in 1914 and went overseas as a bugler. He was gassed at Ypres, France, in 1915 and was unable to carry on in the trenches and was transferred to the Transport Corps. He had farmed until he joined the Army and farmed after his discharge for quite some time. He married and had one daughter and retired in Ontario. SULICK, Paul WWII Paul joined the Army. He was a member of the Smeaton Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. STRINGER, Reid WWII Reid joined the Army.
