The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 367 SHOEBRIDGE, Leonard WWII Leonard joined the Canadian Army in 1943 and was discharged in 1946. He enlisted again in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in 1950 and served as a mechanic in Germany and was released in 1953. SILVIUS, Kay King WWII Kay King was born at Walpole, Saskatchewan, on December 21, 1918. He served overseas with the 8th RECCE Regiment, 14th Canadian Hussars, RCAC. He was killed in action on August 2, 1944 in France and is buried at the Beny-Sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, Reviers, France. Silvius Lake in northern Saskatchewan is named in his honour. SKOCZYLAS, Nicholas WWII Nicholas was born in North Portal, Saskatchewan, on May 5, 1925. He joined the Canadian Army on June 15, 1944, at age 19, and served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment and was stationed in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Holland, France and Germany. He was discharged on April 3, 1946. Nicholas passed away on December 29, 1967. SKOCZYLAS, Joe WWII Joe was born on March 19, 1923 in North Portal, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador. He passed away in November 1982.
