The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 345 RUDOSKI, Larry PEACETIME Larry enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on March 1, 1948 as an aircraftsman 2nd Class and served in various capacities as an airman and NCO at Royal Canadian Air Force station Sea Island, Canadian Joint Air Training Centre, Rivers, Royal Canadian Air Force stations, Clinton, Charesholm, Gimli and #1 Air Division Headquarters, Metz, France. Commissioned from the rank of Flight Sergeant in 1958 and held appointments of accounting officer, staff officer, pay accounting officer, base controller and command controller at various Royal Canadian Air Force bases. He is still on the Supplementary Reserve list, tentatively a candidate for the formed Supplementary Ready Reserve. He was discharged on October 3, 1975 and received the Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. RUDY, Freddie WWII and PEACETIME Rudy was born on July 3, 1926. He enlisted on December 7, 1943 with the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as an air gunner (Sergeant). From 1950-1972, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as a pilot (Flight Lieutenant). After his first discharge on March 7, 1945, Freddie was employed as a mechanic in Langenburg and rejoined the Royal Canadian Air Force on December 2, 1950 and received his pilot’s wings in October 1951 and was selected to fly fighter aircrafts. In 1952, he was transferred to the 1st Canadian NATO base on the continent and exercises were conducted out of bases in England, Norway and Germany. He got married. In October 1954, the squadron was disbanded and he was transferred to MacDonald as a pilot weapon instructor and later as an advanced training instructor. In December 1957, he transferred to Rivers and in September 1961, to Cold Lake, Alberta. Rudy transferred to many areas during his time with the Royal Canadian Air Force. In August 1967, after his wife passed away, he transferred to Rivers instructing again. He remarried and moved with the helicopter training unit to Portage la Prairie. Rudy retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force in July 1971, and was discharged on January 1, 1972 and moved to British Columbia, retiring in 1985 as a post officer carrier. He received the 1939-45 War Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration. RUDY, John H. “Jack” WWII John joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 25, 1941 and was posted to RAF Ricall Yorks, England, and then posted to C.U. Royal Canadian Air Force Dalton and Wimbleton Yorks from September 1943 to June 1945. He was then posted to #420 and #425 Squadrons Yorkshire and Debert, Nova Scotia, from June to September 1945, being discharged on September 11 of that year. He served from 1954-56 as Flying Officer Primary Reserve (Air Cadets). He married and raised a family. John passed away on May 11, 1996. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the Defence Medal and the 1939-45 War Medal. RUDY, Harold PEACETIME Harold was born in December 7, 1939. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1957 and left after three years. He married and raised a family, and worked as a draftsman for the potash mine. Harold rejoined the Royal Canadian Air Force sometime after 1965 and left in 1970 but worked for the Department of Defence in Cold Lake, Alberta, until 1980 and then moved to Saskatoon to work as a draftsman. He retired to Pinder Island, British Columbia.
