The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 337 RINK, Daniel WWII Daniel was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan, on December 1, 1917. He joined the Army in August 1942 and served in Canada and England as a gunnery instructor at the Dauphin Air Force station and went overseas in early 1945. He was discharged in July 1945. Daniel passed away on December 7, 2002. RINK, Joseph “Joe” WWII Joe was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan, on August 20, 1921. He joined the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry - 2nd Division on January 13, 1941 and served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and was discharged on January 2, 1946. He was wounded on October 18, 1944 in Holland and was evacuated after dark and attacked by mortar bombs when one landed in back of a truck and two were killed. He ended up at #16 hospital in England. He has been a member of the Montmartre Branch (now Regina Branch) of The Royal Canadian Legion for 55 years. ROBERTSON, Lloyd WWII Lloyd joined the Army and served overseas. He passed away in 2001. RINK, Wendelin WWII Wendelin was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan, on August 27, 1923. He joined the Iroquois Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force on June 29, 1942 and served in England and all over Europe. He was killed in a raid over the Rhur at Essen, Germany, on March 11, 1945, doing his ninth trip, and is buried in Reichswald Forest Cemetery in Germany.
