The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 335 RILEY, Muriel H. WWII Muriel was born in PEI in 1920 and moved to Qu’appelle, Saskatchewan, where she attended school at Strathcarol. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a cook and served in eastern Canada in WWII. She now resides in Parksville on Vane Isle, British Columbia, with her husband, David Kehl. RILEY, William Walter WWI William was born in Wilmot, PEI, on August 3, 1893. He enlisted in Charlottetown, PEI, on May 1, 1915 in the 55th Battalion, the same outfit as his brother, John Lepage. William went overseas to England and France, and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. William is deceased and is buried in Summerside Peoples Cemetery, PEI. RINK, Bernard WWII Bernard was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan, on May 9, 1925. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force 576 Squadron (RAF) on January 8, 1943 and served in England with a bomber crew as rear gunner. Being not even 20 years old, he made 34 bombing raids over western Europe and U Boats over the English Channel. He was discharged on June 25, 1945. Bernard is a member of the Kamsack Branch #24 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years. RINK, Anton WWII Anton was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan, on March 24, 1916. He joined the Seaforth Highlanders in July 1940 and served with the 1st Division in England, Sicily, Italy and Holland. He served also with the Signal Platoon and was a dispatch rider. He was discharged in August 1945. Anton passed away on March 28, 2007 and had been a member of the Lebret Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for 20 years.
