The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 327 PRINCE, Walter Arthur Roy WWII Walter joined the Army on May 25, 1942, served in Canada, Britain and northwest Europe, and was discharged on June 29, 1946. He married, farmed, and raised a family and retired in Langenburg. Walter received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-45 War Medal, the 1939-45 Star, the France/Germany Star and the Defence Medal. PRINGLE, Fred William WWII Fred was born in the Harrowby area of Marchwell, Saskatchewan, on August 4, 1923. He joined the Army in August 1943, serving in England and Europe, and was discharged in 1946. Fred never married. He retired and moved to Langenburg, Saskatchewan, and worked for various farms in the area where needed and also worked part-time for the telephone company. PRINGLE, Gordon WWII Gordon was born in Marchwell, Saskatchewan, on November 21, 1917. He joined the Winnipeg Rifles on April 6, 1944 and served in England, Belgium, Holland and France, receiving his discharge in August 1945. After the war, Gordon married and raised two daughters and retired and moved to Rocanville, Saskatchewan. PRINGLE, George W. WWI and WWII George was born in England on July 17, 1895. He joined the 226th Battalion CEF on active duty during WWI. He was wounded and returned home with a small pension and became a truck driver. During WWII, he served with the Veteran’s Guard of Canada. He served at POW camps in Drumheller, Alberta, Medicine Hat and Kamloops, British Columbia. His duty was being a driver for all the officers. When he returned to Canada he married Iva and they raised fifteen children, including four sets of twins.
