The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 321 POMEROY, Wallace WWII Wallace enlisted in the RCA in 1939 and went overseas. He married Joan while in England and had a daughter, Valerie while there. The family came back to Calgary, where a son, Michael, was born. In 1947, the family came back to Arborfield, where Joan and the children remained, but Wallace returned to Calgary. He is now deceased and Joan and family left Arborfield. POOLE, Earl John William WWII Earl was born in Stoughton, Saskatchewan, in 1915. He joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment serving in France. He was killed in action at Dieppe on August 19, 1942 and is buried at the Canadian War Cemetery at Hautot-sur-Mer, France. POPP, Richard A. WWII Richard was born in the MacNutt, Langenburg area, Saskatchewan, and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (Flying Pilot) in February 1942. He was discharged in August 1945. He was a flying instructor who trained pilots and after his discharge, he came back to Langenburg and became the administrator of the Langenburg Hospital and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, to retire. He passed away on July 5, 1997. POOLE, George Harrison WWII George was born in Stoughton, Saskatchewan, in 1911. He joined the 11th Canadian Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers, 5th Canadian Armoured Division serving in the United Kingdom and Italy. He held many offices in the Legions, Weyburn and Estevan, and received a 50-year pin before he passed away in 2002.
