The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 289 MUIRHEAD, Roy WWII Roy, son of Isabelle and William Muirhead was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, in 1913. He joined the 1st Division SSR as a signaller in October 1939 and landed in England on Christmas Day in 1940 with the Canadian Hussars. He also served in France, Holland and Germany. MUIRHEAD, Vernon WWII Vernon, son of Isabelle and William Muirhead, was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, in 1915. He joined the SSR as a signaler, serving in England, France, Holland and Germany. He passed away in 1995. MUNDELL, Joe WWII Joe was born in Plunkett, Saskatchewan, in 1909. He enlisted in the Army in 1939 and served in England. He homesteaded in the Pine Torch area and married Bea Ford. After the war ended, Bea and Joe left for Prince George, British Columbia, and retired to Enderby, British Columbia. MUMFORD, Eric C. WWII Eric was born in Leslie, Saskatchewan, in 1922. He joined the Wireless Mechanic 424 Squadron, serving in Canada, England and North Africa. He married Dora Helgason in 1945 and they raised six children. He joined the Foam Lake Legion #16 and was a member for 61 years. Eric served as Post Master in Foam Lake until his retirement in 1983. He passed away in 2010.
