The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 281 MORDEN, Robert “Bob” WWI Bob was born on February 15, 1895 at Neepawa, Manitoba. He married Anne Norbary and moved to Arborfield on May 7, 1930 to get his Veterans’ Land. He later sold his land and got land in Connell Creek, which they farmed from 1944 to 1958. They then sold the land and moved to Penticton, British Columbia. MORGAN, Dewey Carter WWI and WWII Dewey was born in North Clinton, Monroe County, Iowa, USA, on September 15, 1895. He enlisted on May 16, 1918 with the 1st Depot Saskatchewan Regiment CEF 15th Canadian Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Forces and was discharged on August 3, 1919. He enlisted in WWII at the 1st Depot Battalion 15th Canadian Active Army, Royal Canadian Signal Corps, serving from 1940 until his discharge on October 16, 1946. He farmed in Saskatchewan, north of Pangman, and started a garage and implement dealership, ran the local power plant, and retired in 1960. He received a medal from the Bramshott area athletic association from where he was stationed in England. Dewey passed away on March 23, 1962 and had been a member of the Pangman Branch #180 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years. MORRISON, Dwight WWII Dwight enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Regina in 1943 at age 19. His wish was to get into the air crew, but because he was color blind he had to take the next best, ground crew being part of the Aero Engine Mechanics and travelled all across Canada stopping in every province getting more training in every one. He was discharged in January 1946, and Dwight returned to Pangman to a partnership in the John Deere business with his dad. In October, he began a six-month course in mechanics and welding at the Regina airport. In November 1946, he married and made his home in Pangman at the end of his course. MORGAN, Gordon A. WWII Gordon was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, in 1921 and enlisted on August 6, 1940 at age 18 with the 76th Battery, 17th Field Regiment serving in Canada, England, Italy, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany and was discharged on October 20, 1945. He received the Defence of Britain 193945 Star and medals for the Italian and European Campaigns and worked at PFRA from 1948 until his retirement. Gordon passed away in 2004.
