The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 279 MOLONEY, George Edward WWII George was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, in 1927. He joined the Saskatchewan Command and served in Canada. He passed away in 1993. MONCRIEF, John Barnard WWII John was born in Bailieboro, Ontario, on September 25, 1917. He joined the Army in 1942, but due to ill health, he was discharged on August 22, 1942 and went to the Alameda area around 1944. He married Elizabeth Ruth Martin and they raised three boys. Jack joined the Frobisher Legion in 1947 and then the Alameda Branch #267 in 1981 and was very active in the community. John passed away on December 28, 1985. MOONIE, Daniel “Scott” WWII Daniel was born in Abernethy, Saskatchewan, on April 29, 1917 and went to homestead at the Blue Spruce District. He joined the Army in 1940 and was discharged in 1945 after serving overseas. In 1951, he sold the land and moved to British Columbia. He passed away in October 1973. MOODIE, Robert WWII Bob enlisted with the RCNVR and was discharged in 1946. He married Elsie Nessaman in 1947. He was able to purchase through the Veterans Land Act. He joined the Arborfield Legion in 1961, and Elsie joined the Ladies’ Auxiliary in 1962. They raised seven children. They moved to British Columbia in 1966, and retired to Kelowna. Bob passed away in 1988 and Elsie still resides there.
